Too Fun to Pass Up

I stole this from my sister's blog that I've been re-reading. I love these things, so I thought I would do this one:

1. What was the first car your family had?
A red Oldsmobile that my mom had. The only memory I have of it is sitting in the back seat screaming my lungs out at the car wash. I was terrified of the car wash!

2. What was the name of your first pet and why?
The first pet I had that was just mine was my albino bunny. I named her Hidey (like Heidi, but I changed the spelling because she liked to hide behind my bed.) She was litter-box trained, slept in my room, would wake me minutes before my alarm would go off so she wouldn't have to hear it, and she liked to sneak into my sister's room and pee in her favorite shoes - to annoy her.

3. What did you want to be when you grew up?
A teacher or a clothing designer.

4. What was the name of your elementary school?
Highland Elementary School. We were the Highland Hawks, but the name changed to the Highland Scotties when I was in around 3rd grade, I think. Pirate Munchkin goes there now! :)

5. Who was your first best friend?
Chad - the cute boy across the street. But he was quickly replaced by Brenda - who I met in kindergarten. She and I are still very close.

6. Are you still friends today, and if not, what happened?
Chad - I have some contact with his family, but haven't seen him since high school. Brenda and I still talk on a regular basis.

7. What was your favorite board game?
Clue, but I never liked to actually play the game. Instead, I just liked to act things out with the pieces. It was all very soap-opera like.

8. Did you play house or other make believe games?
Always.

9. Were you a Dungeons and Dragons geek?
Um... no.

10. Did you sleep with stuffed animals as a kid?
Lots of them.

11. Do you still sleep with stuffed animals?
I sleep with my fuzzy husband and a dog at the end of the bed (usually between us)

12. Who was the first person you looked up to when you were younger?
My mom. She's the coolest. (copying my sister's answer here because it's very true! Love you Mom!)

13. Who was your favorite relative?
My Aunt Cindy. She's amazing.

14. Were you short or tall in elementary school?
Average.

15. Were you teased in school?
Not too bad by the kids, although I did have a horrible 6th grade teacher - but he was mean to all of us.

16. What was the name of your favorite teacher?
Mrs. Jellison. I just saw her a few weeks ago, and that's exactly how I introduced her to Pirate Munchkin, as my favorite.

17. What was the name of your least favorite teacher?
Mr. Fick. (above named 6th grade teacher). His first name was Richard - that pretty much says it all.

18. What was your best subject in school?
Art. I love to paint.

19. What was your worst subject in school?
Biology in college. I didn't understand anything in that class until we got to genetics. I LOVE genetics. But I still failed the class.

20. Did you do well in Physical Education?
Yes and no. But I adored my sophmore year PE teacher because he taught me to love football.

21. Were you clumsy when you were younger?
Yes. Still am.

22. Who was your favorite band as a kid?
Sawyer Brown. We used to cheer them on every week on Star Search. I still love them.

23. What was your favorite movie as a kid?
Bugsy Malone. You've got to love a movie that has gangster children with tommy guns that fire whipped cream!

24. Did your parents read to you?
All the time. So did my sister.

25. Did you have a favorite book?
Harold and the Purple Crayon, probably.

26. What was your favorite restaurant as a kid?
The Royal Fork, which was a buffet place. They had the greatest rolls in the universe. (again, copying her answer. This was the best place ever!)

27. What TV or movie star did you have a crush on?
Lots of them. I was always boy crazy.

28. Do you now wonder what you were thinking?
Not a chance. Although that does answer why Pirate Munchkin loves to chase the boys at school.

29. Who was your first crush in school?
Warren. But he wasn't at my school. I was 6, he was 15 and one of my mom's students. He even gave me a picture to remember him by.

30. As a child, what kind of car did you want when you grew up?
I have no idea.

31. Did your parents spank you?
Yes.

32. Did your parents fight a lot when you were a kid?
I've heard they did, but I have no memory of it.

33. Did your parents get divorced or stay married?
Divorced.

34. If they got divorced, how old were you when it happened?
Seven.

35. Did you ever run away from home?
Nope. I liked home.

36. How old were you when/if you first got glasses?
12. November of 7th grade, but Mom told me I could wait until after Christmas break before I had to wear them to school

37. Did you need braces or a retainer?
I needed braces, but never had them. I did have a retainer.

38. If you're male, how old were you when you had your first wet dream?
N/A. I'm female.

39. Both sexes when did you start shaving?
12, I think?

40. Girls when did you start wearing a bra?
6th grade? Not sure.

41. What was your first kiss like?
Disturbing. He used his tongue - which kind of freaked me out, and I remember being really bothered by how large the pores on his nose were.

42. What did you do on your first date?
Yikes. That's a long story! That may have to be it's own posting. The short version was we went to see Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves.

43. How old were you when you first drank?
21. The day after my birthday. I drank a surprisingly large amount, didn't have a hangover, and really wasn't impressed. I hate the taste of alcohol.

44. Where was your first house?
We lived in a little house across the street from my aunt & uncle when I was little, but the better story is the next house. My grandparents bought it in the 60's, my parents bought it from them in 1978, and I bought it from Mom in 2005. I'm sitting in the living room of it right now.
